There is nowhere like Sculpture by the Lakes to hit the pause button and recharge – but it’s about to get even better! We’re so excited to let you know what’s coming up at the third Wellbeing by the Lakes festival from September 8 to 11.
Festival goers can look forward to a varied programme of expert talks, guided meditations, fitness and movement classes, art workshops, healing therapies, and wellness practices, all awaiting them in the beautiful surroundings of this very special place.
And there is even more happening at this year’s event to help you feel healthier and happier – more outdoor experiences, a dedicated workshop space, and a marketplace stage offering mini talks and demos to name just a few!
Expert talks
The Riverside Stage will be hosting a fantastic programme of inspirational talks, including Sunday Times best-selling author and self-proclaimed ‘tree hugger’ Cheryl Rickman exploring why trees make us feel better, and Yellow Kite authors Dr Jenny Goodman, author of Staying Alive in Toxic Times, who for two decades has helped patients improve their health though understanding environmental factors, and Dr Radha Modgil, an NHS GP, broadcaster and columnist, offering insights from her book Know Your Own Power.
Life-enhancing experiences
Among the many sessions on offer in the Move and Flow area you can try an array of yoga practices, from African Yoga to Face Yoga, workout with the newly launched Swell Fitness Bag, or learn Chi Flow with Master Ha, a second-generation Korean Chi Master.
You won’t want to miss the transcendent sound healing experiences and high vibrations in The Retreat, or the chance to get creative in the Art Area, or reconnect with nature with forest bathing and drum circles in the woods, and floating guided meditations out on the lake.
Festival goers can also treat themselves to one of the healing treatments on offer, which include massage, Reiki, reflexology. And don’t forget the lively marketplace, packed with unique stalls and street food.
The festival programme now also features a range of daily workshops including the Art of Decluttering with Romana Reinynolds, The Law of Attraction with award-winning coach and author Emma Mumford, and a Raw Writing Workshop with The Mind Mob.
